Roberto started running in 2014, after he nearly lost his right leg in a very serious road traffic accident in the year 2000. He joined SWEAT in April 2014, and with regular training went from running 10km in around 47′ in 2014, to 40′:41″ in 2015. Steady improvements came in 2016 with his first sub-40 minutes 10km in 39′:47″ at the Launceston 10km in June (13th place in age category), followed by a 39′:49″ (8th place in age category) one month later in the Gold Coast 10km. Roberto is now preparing for the Sydney SMH half marathon in September
